I’m trying to mix up my workouts. I have been pretty running focused for the past couple months (except December where I didn’t do much of anything), but these winter months are a great time for me to explore some other options and I’m loving it.
Monday: 30 Minutes on the Treadmill followed by a mini strength session.
- I really love this 20 minute HIIT workout from Janetha, and have even got my husband doing it. I followed the pattern of this workout for 30 minutes and did a couple rounds of walking lunges, push ups, bicep curls, lateral raises, and deadlifts. I have been neglecting strength training BIG TIME and my body let me know. Hello sore buns.
Post workout stretching in our home office. Very professional. |
Tuesday: Flywheel.
- I tried Flywheel back in August and really loved it, but I wasn’t ready to plop down some major dough for the classes. After lusting for the classes for a couple months, I decided that I was going to invest in myself and buy some classes. I love the workout, it’s good for my body, and it makes me happy, so why not? It’s a quick walk from my house in the morning, and I come home ready to take on the day.

Wednesday: Barre Bee Fit Bardio Interval Class
- You can read all about Barre Bee Fit HERE. Bardio was far and away my favorite class and it left me a total sweaty mess. I was still a little sore from Monday’s workout and fast feet with a sore bum was insane. I thought my glutes were going to fall off.
Thursday: Rest
- Totally needed. I foam rolled big time.
Friday: Flywheel.
- Yep, again! That place must pump the air in the cycle studio with something special, because I walk out of there on cloud nine with rainbows bouncing around in my head, and promptly go home and sign up for another sweat session.
Saturday: An Outdoor Run!
- When Chicago provides mid-50 temps in January, you capitalize. You charge up that Garmin and you get out there.
Sunday: 30 minute relaxed walk on the treadmill
- I don’t even thing you can call this a workout, but at least I was moving and I caught up on all my magazines.
What’s your favorite group exercise class?
What magazine subscriptions do you get? Vogue, Architectural Digest, People “Style Edition”, The Economist (not for me), InStyle. It’s too much….I have such a back-log.
What’s the most you would pay for an awesome/blow your mind fitness class?
